47 Academic Integrity
KPU is committed to creating a culture of academic integrity through an educative approach by increasing awareness, developing prevention strategies, and supporting students in their journey at KPU.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values on which good academic work must be founded: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage[1]. To learn about the importance of academic integrity, including what it means, types of academic misconduct, and how to avoid them, students are encouraged to complete KPU’s Academic Integrity Moodle Course. They will receive a badge on their Moodle profile upon successful completion.
Breaches of academic integrity are taken seriously at KPU as per ST2 Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. Faculty, Instructional Staff, and the Dean’s Offices play an important part in the reporting and investigation of these breaches.
For more information about KPU’s approach, ways to promote academic integrity, and what to do if you think that academic misconduct has occurred, please consult the Academic Integrity Resource Shelf. If you have any questions, send an email to academic.integrity@kpu.ca.
