Week 3: SOUND PRACTICES IN BUILDING COMMUNITY ONLINE
LEARNING ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK:
Step 1: Participants research and post peer-reviewed journal articles on ‘sound practices’ in building online community.
Step 2: Participants reflect on selected ‘sound practices’ and decide how they intend to incorporate one or more of them into their course design/facilitation.
Step 3: Participants read a suggested article to help inform the concept of quality in the design of an online learning activity.
Step 4: Participants design and post an introductory activity that focuses on supporting learners in building an online community.
Step 5: Participants use an instructor-created rubric to peer-assess their introductory activity to determine whether or not their activity exemplified ‘sound practices’ in building online community.
