3.2 Reflection ~1 hr

PURPOSE OF THE TASK: This activity is a continuation of activity 3.1. It is designed to create a space for you to reflect on your findings on a more personal or professional level.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Using the discussion forum used in activity 3.1, read your peers’ posts on building online community.  ~20 mins

Step 2: Individually post your reflections on how you intend to incorporate one or more of these sound practices into your course design/facilitation. ~25 mins

Step 3: Comment on two of your peers’ posts. Comments should contribute to advancing the discussion. ~15 mins


TEACHING INTENTIONS:

“…lifelong learning takes place through reflection [and] reflection, once learned, is a skill that crosses disciplines… As  educators we  need to  facilitate critical  reflection  to enable  students  to move  beyond  a superficial  understanding  of their world” (Colley, Bilics, & Lerch, 2012, pp. 1-2).
