How well do you understand the decisions students make when purchasing textbooks for all of their courses? Here is your chance to experience one semester’s experience from the perspectives of different personas, all them based on research of actual students.
This simulation was designed to help you appreciate the choices real students have to make each semester.
You will experience this as a student character. The budgets and situations for each character come from research at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Your goal is to complete your student’s objective by making decisions about how you’ll allocate money, study points and health points… just like real students, you’ll also have to react to surprise events.
The simulation is played in three rounds: the beginning of the semester, midterms and the end of the semester. This game is intentionally frustrating! If it’s frustrating for you, imagine how students feel.
