1. Foster Belonging

Look for ways to connect International and domestic students

Classrooms are enriched by the exchange of ideas between students possessing different skills and experiences. Be proactive in cultivating the two-way exchange of knowledge and enhanced cultural understanding that can take place when domestic and international students get to know and learn from each other.

Consider implementing ungraded classroom activities designed to facilitate conversations about course topics between students. If appropriate, ensure that groups include domestic and international students. Initiate and sustain a lively, productive discussion.

Also look for ways to connect students with the KPU community outside of the classroom. Some departments have student associations that could be invited to create student-led events designed to connect domestic and international students.
