Ask your students how they are doing in the course. If they are struggling academically, ask how you might be able to adjust—within reason—the delivery of course content to facilitate their success.

Students from some cultures might be reluctant to provide their teachers with direct feedback, so prompting them with specific questions about their learning will be essential. Consider using rubrics to specify your expectations of students. Guidance on rubrics and grading.

Intervene when you observe your students falling behind. When appropriate, use the Student Referral Program (SRP) to connect them to the additional resources they may require.
