AI Declaration Statement

As this book was written by multiple authors, each took a variety of approaches to the use of AI. Individual chapters will have AI Declaration Statements with how AI was used (if applicable).

• Writing—Review & Editing:
  • AI (unknown) was used for proofreading and editing of some chapters. Proofreading and editing of all chapters was also done by humans.
  • ChatGPT 4.0 (OpenAI) was used to revise some proposed discussion questions.
  • Claude Sonnet 4 (Anthropic) was used to create initial draft alt text for diagrams. The draft alt text was then reviewed and edited by humans.
• Visualization:
  • ChatGPT 4.0 (OpenAI) was used in some instances to take content written by some authors and create related tables. The tables were then edited by the authors.

The human authors and editors who used AI retained full creative control and decision-making authority throughout the process.
