3 How To Cook Pasta – By Sahejpreet

Pasta is cooked in different ways, through the instructions I will explain how to make Indian style red sauce pasta. This recipe has four basic steps: Boil, Chop, Cook, Garnish.

Requirements (food):

  • Pasta
  • Olive oil
  • Water
  • Onions
  • Bell peppers (red, yellow or green)
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Ginger and garlic paste
  • Salt, pepper, Oregano, red chilli flakes, Spring onions, cilantro.

Requirements (utensils): Sauce pan, Pasta Pot, knives, chopping board, ladle, strainer for pasta, serving spoon, bowl, teaspoon, tablespoon.

This recipe is good for 1 serving.

 

Boil:

· Take a pot put 1 small bowl pasta in it.

· Then put the pasta under running tap-water to wash is properly.

· Rinse the pasta properly and transfer it in the pasta pot.

· Add 2.5 bowls of water in it. Pasta needs good amount of water to be boiled properly.

· After that add a teaspoon of salt and oil in it. Oil helps pasta not to get sticky and salt helps to cook it fast and also helps to give good flavour to the pasta. .

· Put the pot on a medium flame and cook it for 15 minutes. Keep a check on the pasta as sometimes it gets overcooked.

· Keep stirring the pasta after every 5 minutes, it will ensure that pasta do not get sticky.

· After 15 minutes turn off the flame and with a spoon take some pasta and test it how it feels in your mouth to make sure it is fully cooked.

· If the pasta feels soft and bouncy, it is cooked properly. If it is still hard, that means it will take some more time to cook.

· Take a strainer and strain the water out of pasta. Then wash the pasta with cold water and keep it on side. It will help to reduce the stickiness.

 

Chop

· Take a knife and chopping board.

· Take onions, bell peppers, spring onions and cilantro. Chop it very finely. Shape does not matter for the chopping part but finely chopped things are easy to cook.

· Keep everything on side.

 

Cook

· Take a sauce pan put 1 tablespoon olive oil in it.

· Put it on a low flame. Add ginger garlic paste and cook it for 1 minute.

· Now put onions and bell peppers in the oil and sauté it well. When the onions start turning into golden colour start adding seasonings.

· Add 1 teaspoon of salt and half teaspoon of pepper. If you like more salt or pepper you can adjust it according to your taste.

· Take a ladle and stir everything properly to mix the seasonings.

· Take a tablespoon and put 6 tablespoons of pasta sauce in the cooked onions and bell peppers. Stir it with the ladle until it is properly mixed.

· Cook the sauce for 5 minutes on low flame and after that turn the gas off.

· Now take boiled pasta and put it in the cooked sauce. Mix it well with the sauce.

· Now take a bowl and put the pasta into the bowl.

 

Garnish:

· Take the bowl of pasta and spread half a tea spoon of oregano and red chilli flakes on top.

· After that take one tablespoon of finely chopped cilantro and spring onions and top the pasta with it by spreading it evenly.

· Now the pasta is fully ready to be served.

 

Note: You can adjust the quantity of things according to your taste.
