With the publication of the Organic Chemistry I open textbook, students at KPU and other areas around the world have benefited from it, and the need to publish an open textbook for Organic Chemistry II became notably urgent. With the support of time release at KPU, the book is now finished and the Organic Chemistry Open Textbook project has been completed.
I would like to voice my immense appreciation to Dr. Diane Purvey, Provost and VP Academic of KPU, and Dr. Brett Favaro, Dean of Faculty of Science, for granting the time release and for their great support on the project since the very beginning. Special thanks are also extended to our Department Chair, Dr. Richard Popoff, for his help on the time release application and support all through the project, as well as Ms. Catherine Chow, for piloting this book in her class and providing constructive feedback, as well as everyone in the Chemistry Department for their feedbacks and help.
The Organic Chemistry II open textbook was possible through the support by KPU Open and KPU Library’s OPUS (Open Publishing Suite). Help from Amanda Grey and Karen Meijer-Kline are greatly appreciated, it was with their patience and professionalism that this project could be completed.
