This interactive workbook guides faculty through a structured exploration of open education, from foundational principles to practical implementation. Beginning with the core values of accessible, effective, and equitable teaching, participants learn to find, evaluate, and adapt Open Educational Resources (OER), implement collaborative and student-centred pedagogical approaches, and understand open scholarship practices.
Designed for faculty with little to no experience in open education, the workbook includes reflective activities, hands-on practice with OER repositories, practical assignment design tools, and implementation planning resources. The journey progresses through three main sections—foundational principles, OER implementation, and open pedagogy—with an optional appendix covering open scholarship for those interested in research applications.
