3.1 Rubrics as Assessment Tools
Rubrics are assessment tools used by instructors that indicate the achievement criteria for various components of a lab report or other assignment. It allows an instructor(s) to assess a student’s performance and provides consistency in evaluating student work. Rubrics are also designed to act as a guide for students to use as they work on the assignment. You can use a rubric to understand the scope of an assignment and to improve the quality of your work.
